Welcome to Amy Learns to Cook! What started as my journey to learn how to cook has turned into a full-blown love of food, cookware, kitchen gadgets, and probably way too many KitchenAid mixers! Here you'll find approachable recipes, cooking tips, kitchen equipment reviews and comparisons, stand mixers, cookware, small appliances, kitchen organization, and plenty of real-world testing to find out what's actually worth your money and counter space. I love trying new recipes, experimenting with kitchen gear, collecting unique cookware and mixers, and sharing what I learn along the way. Sometimes things turn out amazing...and sometimes they don't. That's part of learning to cook! Join me in my new cooking studio as we cook, test, compare, organize, shop, and have some fun in the kitchen. Learn. Cook. Create.

We’re renovating an abandoned 500 year old cottage in the Cotswolds, alongside life with our very enthusiastic spaniel, Muddy. Our films follow a long, hands-on renovation and the reality of living with a project this big. Along the way we’ve taken on other builds too, from a tiny house cabin to a homemade canoe, usually learning by doing and often making it up as we go along. This channel is about big projects, old buildings, and enjoying the slow (and sometimes bloody annoying) process of figuring things out, while building a life around it all.

Back in 2005, I bought the Chateau de Lalande with my two best friends, Nic and Michael. Filled with optimism, we had no idea what epic adventures (and spiralling costs!) lay ahead. But little by little we tackled the renovation of this 16th century historic building, and filled it with friends and family from all over the world. Now, thanks to the viewers of this YouTube channel, and the patrons of The Chateau Diaries, Lalande is undergoing a renaissance. The chateau and its gardens are springing back to life, with a lot of hard work, set-backs, triumphs and - most of all - laughter, along the way... The purpose of this channel is promote knowledge and education in construction. Here in the US, many of us don’t have any formal training or education in construction, but we learn through experience. My goal with this page is to promote learning and to that end I will show what I’ve learned over the years. I want to be very clear, what I show here is just a starting point. I am not claiming the tricks and methods I use are the best way to do any one thing, but rather are the end result of 20+ years of refinement with many more years to go. What I hope is that you as the reader/viewer will have an open mind and be willing to share your suggestions. Let’s all view ourselves as learners first, teachers second. Then all of us will progress together.
