He also holds a Master's Degree in Music Performance from California State University, Fullerton studying with the prominent guitarist and composer, Andrew York. In 2022 he won first place at the Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Competition and received first prize at the Pacific Guitar Festival and Competition in 2020. In 2019 Cody was selected as one of fifteen competitors worldwide to compete in the Parkening International Guitar Competition the preeminent classical guitar competition of the world. He served as an adjunct professor of guitar at Riverside City College and Cal Baptist University from 2019 to 2022. Born and raised in California, he enjoys surfing and hiking in the outdoors.
